Outlets and Switches

Call Us At : (540) 656-7792

To meet our modern needs, older electrical systems may need to be modernized. Several appliances and devices, such as air conditioners, heat pumps, laundry machines, water heaters, and dishwashers, are frequently on at the same time, not to mention all of our numerous gadgets and entertainment systems.

This is why it's critical to have an older home's electrical system inspected thoroughly. Fires caused by faulty wiring or systems are among the most common causes of property damage in the United States. We will inspect every component of your electrical system, including outlets and switches, during the inspection.

Professional outlet and switch replacements are provided by Amped Up Electrical Services. Our electricians at Amped Up Electrical Services will assist you with removing old or damaged components and replacing them with new, code-compliant parts.

Which Type of Outlet Should You Use?

Our outlets have altered to keep up with our needs as we continue to employ increasingly complex electronics. Take a look at some of the replacement alternatives available to you.

Outlets with two or three prongs

Two-prong outlets, which are no longer code-compliant, are common in older homes. (The only exception is if the circuit allocated to the two-prong outlet does not already contain a grounding wire.)

We recommend replacing any two pronged outlets to three-prong outlets for enhanced safety and peace of mind. The latter has a ground wire that directs electrical surges to the earth, keeping you safe from being shocked.

Either a standard three-pronged outlet or a GFCI outlet can be installed (which provides greater protection against accidental electrocution).

USB Charging Ports

These look exactly like conventional outlets, except they have USB ports. Each outlet normally has two connections, but you can also add a fully dedicated USB outlet with many ports. We'll need to determine if the current amperage in your home can handle charging your various devices before we install this type of outlet for you.

We also assist homeowners with the installation of new cable outlets and tamper-resistant outlets for families with small children.

Electrical Switches Replacement

Do you want to replace your dimmer switch for better lighting control? Any additions or replacements will be handled by us. Single-pole, double-pole, three-way, and four-way switches are among the several types of wall switches we install. From the outside, they all appear to be the same, but each one serves a different purpose.
